The 2015 BMW X6 has been rendered by graphic artists. The second generation X6 Sports Activity Coupe will be unveiled in late 2014 and it is built on the new F15 BMW X5 platform.
Proven to be successful in markets like the Middle East and Russia, the new BMW X6 builds atop the design of the first generation. The F16 BMW X6 will feature the same coupe-like roofline but this time with an overall more aggressive and dynamics design. The Munich-based automaker aims to further differentiate their X models.
Since it uses the same platform as the F15 X5, the 2015 X6 is slightly longer to provide additional rear legroom. A source says that the new X6 will grow from 4877mm to about 4910mm. The car will also have a wider track and longer wheelbase.
Just like the upcoming 7 Series, the chassis of the new X6 is said to shed some weight.
Under the hood BMW will offer the typical inline-six petrol and diesel engines, as well as the newly upgraded 4.4 liter V8 TwinTurbo which now makes 450 horsepower.
The renderings attached to this post use some design cues seen on the new X5, but we will know more about the new X6 design as soon as test mules hit the road.
