By the end of this year, BMW will unveil their first BMW 2 Series family of cars. The top of the line model will the BMW M235i, an M Performance Automobile similar to the BMW M135i.

Technically the 2 Series Coupe and Convertible are closely related to the current generation F20/F21 1 Series, which implies the use of a rear-wheel drive architecture and in some cases, an all-wheel drive system. Therefore an M235i xDrive is planned as well.

Under the hood the high-end BMW M235i lays a 3.0 liter six-cylinder N55 TwinPower engine which also outputs 450 NM of torque between 1300 and 4500 RPM. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
