New Video: 2014 BMW X5

BMW launches a new video of the 2014 BMW X5.

The third-generation X5 makes its debut this fall and in the U.S. will be available with a rear-wheel drive – 2014 X5 sDrive35i – starting at $ 53,725, and all-wheel drive – 2014 BMW X5 xDrive35i – priced at $ 56,025.

The only diesel offered for American customers (so far), the 2014 BMW X5 xDrive35d has a base price of $ 57,525, but will be available a few months later.

The highest offering is the 2014 BMW X5 xDrive50i starting at $ 69,125. Newly-standard equipment for the X5 includes, but is not limited to, BMW’s Auto Start-Stop system, BMW’s iDrive4.2 Navigation System with Touchpad, 10 years of BMW Assist eCall service, 10 years of BMW TeleService, BMW Apps, 40-20-40 split-folding rear seat, and now standard Servotronic speed-sensitive power steering.

The V8-powered X5 xDrive50i will use BMW’s latest 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8. It offers improvements in horsepower and torque, while at the same time improving efficiency. The new generation of the V8 engine now puts out 450 hp, a whopping 50 hp more to move less weight! Torque figures are up to at 479 lb-ft, a 29 lb-ft gain.

For the new X5 xDrive50i, 0-100km (0-62mph) now happens in half a second sooner, just 5.0 seconds

All models will be equipped with BMW’s latest 8-speed automatic transmission. As was true of its predecessors, the all-new BMW X5 will be produced exclusively at BMW’s production facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
